The Dianova Espartinas Club at the IV Championship National A and B “José Checho Gutierrez 2008”, June 21st and 22nd 2008 in Managua.

“(…) it is for me honor and pride to teach to all of them.”

It has been a real pleasure for me to attend the IV Championship National A and B of athleticism in Managua to support and encourage the children of Las Marias College and the athletic team of the “Dianova Espartinas Club”.

Their trainer Daniel Isaac Traña Ruiz put a lot of time, energy and patience in the training of the pupils and even with the poor means they have to get a good training at the college, they have doubled their efforts, winning a great amount of medals.

The results are the following: 2 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 9 bronze medals. From these winners, the two gold medals are qualified for the championship of Centro America at Salvador.

Furthermore, the children were very happy for their hard working three weeks training and sweating. Although, for some of them it was their first time at this competition, with all the fear they might had, some of them won medals.

Just thinking about the smile on the face of Rosa Meyling when she was decorated of a silver medal at the shot put event, I was full of joy for her.

The sport in general is a work of great self force, of determination to win and also of getting better oneself but also through the others that compete. It is a challenge and a pleasure…

Their trainer Daniel Isaac Traña Ruiz, who started working at the college via three years ago, has for objective to teach them every trick he knows and give them the power to win. And apparently it works!

Daniel’s words demonstrate his happiness and pride of his team:

“I am very proud of the Athleticism team that I am training, in spite of the fact that the majority of the children are new in this sport. But they have put all their heart and this is an achievement of their effort and dedication. Today, they are two those who have been classified for the Central American games but tomorrow it is possible that we win the first place of other competitions. It is for me an honor and a pride to teach to all of them.” Daniel Isaac Traña Ruiz.

I hope that in the days to come that they will win more medals and more recognition. They deserve it for their hardworking.
